What Are Your Options?
Every designer has a different process and we believe that open communication and how we work with our clients are essential in our business. Today, we discuss how we narrow down design options and the way we present them to a client.
Working in Stages
When a client comes to ACI with multiple rooms in their home that need some TLC, we like to do our work in stages. We don’t like to overrun our clients with a million and one choices for every room in their home, all at the same time. When you keep the number small and grow from there, it is much easier for all of us. We move from one room to the next, so that you are happy with each room before starting to design the following space.
Providing Three Design Options
ACI like to provide you with a maximum of three designs to consider. Before concluding on these three options, ACI begins with about 10 initial different designs with our team and narrows down from there. ACI choose the best designs that feel aligned with your overall vision and taste in mind. ACI believes that process is so important, as it eliminates our clients from feeling overwhelmed with too many choices.
Guest Room Example
Here are examples of a guest bedroom design that was presented to our client with three rug different options. As you can see, each one had a similar feel and aesthetic that matched our client's wants, but each rug told a slightly different story and had certain aspects that differed from the other.

HOME TOUR: Mid Century Living Room Transformation
Welcome to our third Home Tour on the blog! ACI is excited to dive into this living room transformation that was done for a young couple expecting their first child. ACI created a space that can grow with them for years to come in their new construction townhome.
At ACI, Alisha focuses on ensuring that our clients feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire design process. She understands that for new homeowners or those that haven’t hired an interior designer before, the process can be overwhelming! That’s why when there is more than one room in the home that needs attention, we begin with one space so that we can understand each other's styles and then progress into other areas. This ensures that the entire process runs smoothly and your time spent with ACI is enjoyable and exciting!
This growing family came to us with their living room, nursery, and guest bedroom in mind for an interior transformation. We began with their living room and we brought their vision of a mid-century home to life by including clean, linear lines into the furniture choices and bright, soft tones into the color palette.
In order to fulfill the family's desires for a mid-century style, Alisha opted for these gorgeous yellow armchairs to give the living room that subtle yet intriguing piece of mid-century flair. The tripod floor lamp assisted with this style and gave the right amount of height for the corner of the living room. The clean-cut wooden coffee table provided that modern touch and the neutral-toned rug grounded the space and provided the perfect amount of texture.
We chose to incorporate various styles of throw pillows for a lived-in look and one of our favorite touches was the gallery wall above the sofa. After listening to our client's needs and wants for their home, we thought what better way to showcase their growing family than with a gallery wall that can grow with them? That’s why we decided to include only 6 frames above the sofa so that they have the chance to add more when new family milestones are met.

Textured pillows, vibrant florals, and family touches brought their living room to life which was both curated and homey.
